MÉLANIE A. LE BOUÉDEC, B.A. (HONS), J.D.
Mélanie Le Bouédec is an articling student with Donnelly Law for 2022-2023.
Mélanie earned a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Toronto and a Juris Doctor from the Windsor Faculty of Law. She also had an exchange in the United Kingdom where she earned credits for her J.D. while enrolled in an International Masters of Law program.
During her studies, Mélanie was involved with a variety of extracurricular activities, including being Co-President of the Environmental Law Society as well as Co-President of the International Law Society. She was also a member of the Transnational Environmental Law and Policy Clinic where she explored novel approaches to international environmental law. During her years on student council, she advocated for a more equitable and environmentally conscious school. Mélanie worked as a research assistant for several professors throughout law school in a variety of fields including Intellectual Property law, Indigenous Rights, International Law, Environmental Law, general Legal Translations, etc. These research positions strengthened her research and writing abilities, while being a teaching assistant provided her with strong public speaking skills. Her experience as a Judicial Clerkship Intern with the OCJ gave her first-hand exposure to a variety of advocacy styles in a criminal context. She aims to use this skillset to advocate for a better, greener future.
Mélanie has started multiple small businesses over the years including a bilingual (French and English) piano teaching company through which she learned about the drive and creativity necessary to make things run smoothly in a commercial context.
In her spare time, Mélanie enjoys playing piano, tinkering with a variety of other instruments, travelling and reading.
